GR Art Prize -2012

Last week Thursday, my sister Lisa and I, with Anna and Alayna, went downtown GR to visit Art Prize.  It was a lot of fun and not too busy.  It was a little rainy on our way, but as soon as we parked, it let up. We were able to see a few of the 10 top pieces and we actually seen the piece that was announced the winner a few days later.  There was a little bit of a wait to get in to the GRAM, but it was well worth it.

Anna loved the penguins!

Anna thought a storm was coming so she had to carry the umbrella.

Quilt made out of computer chips - not sure that would be very warm or cozy.

Huge picture made out of colored sand that was all glued to the board.  The girl was not part of the art piece, she just stood there forever and looked at.

WINNER - A girl from California drew this all with pencils.  It was over 8ft. long.  Once she hung her piece up, she kept drawing and went off the paper and on to the museum  wall.

A record player in motion and making cool sketches.

Hang-glider - not a real person, just another art piece.

HUGE elephant piece

Black Crow make out of tires.

That car was tiny!!  It was a Fiat!

Really cool sand sculpture!
