Melting Snow

In this past week, the snow along our driveway is finally gone!  However, the temps don't really reflect the melted snow.  Alayna is quickly running out of patience to be able to play outside every day.  When she noticed the snow was completely melted, she said, "Mom! the snow is finally dead!"  It was hilarious!

Cookies

Yesterday, I made cookies for the Heritage sale and while Alayna was watching her favorite cartoon, " Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood", I asked her if she wanted to help me make them.  She got so excited and said, "YEAH!!  My tummy doesn't want to watch Daniel Tiger anymore.  It wants to make cookies!"  :).

Too Smart!

At 21 months old, Bristol catches on to everything we say and do.  She talks nonstop and is always wanting to do what her big sisters are doing.  Her new thing is to comfort someone when they are hurting and she rubs their arm and says in such a concerned tone of voice, "oh honey!"  Another thing that I found to be hilarious is the other day, I was giving her a big hug and I said "can you stay this way forever?" And she says "no".  Then I said "why not." And she says "cuz!"  Haha!!
Last night at supper, Joel and I were laughing at something Bristol had done and Anna says, "She is so smart!  We should bring her to the doctor to see what is wrong with her!"

It's a Beautiful Day!

Bristol loves to sing and listen to music and one of her favorite songs is a Barney song called, "It's a Beautiful Day!"  She knows approx. two words of the song and it's hilarious that she says them in the correct spots.

Oh Anna!

This past week at Meijer, the girls and I were walking past the eggs and the milk and Anna spotted some brown, organic eggs. She said in an excited voice, "Mom, Meijer has chocolate eggs!"

The Encore brand salisbury steaks are a favorite with the girls, especially Anna.  Joel decided to make homemade venison salisbury steaks for lunch today and we all loved them!  As we were eating, Anna asks Joel what he used to make them and he told her he used venison and some spices.  Then he went on to tell her that she has to go hunting with him so they can get a deer and have more meat to make more steaks.  Anna replied, "VENISON!  I knew there was a reason why these tasted so good!"

Bristol's 18 Month (ok...20 month) Picture!

I finally got around to taking Bristol's 18 month picture...2 months late!!  Between the holidays and all of us getting sick approx. every other week, we are finally healthy and ready to be done with this crazy cold weather.  As usual, Bristol was her hilarious self while trying to take these pictures.  At first, she thought she had to lay down, then she thought she would be funny and look at the backdrop and say cheese and smile so I couldn't see her face, but in between all those, I caught one good smile and called it good!!

Small Game Hunting

The first weekend that deer hunting was over, Joel took Anna and Alayna small game hunting.  They had a ton of fun!  Alayna was a little tired at the end with all the walking, but when she came home and I asked if she would want to do it again, she said yes.  Joel taught them how to identify animal tracks, so now, whenever we see tracks anywhere, Anna always tries to make a good educated guess.
